Welcome from our ChairmanAs Chairman of the British-Kazakh Society I welcome you to our website. The Society was founded in 2002 to promote the best of relations between the UK and Kazakhstan. We are honoured to have as our patrons no lesser figures than HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York and President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan which itself indicates the importance that the two countries attach to the Society and its future role in developing links between the two nations. We plan a full programme of events appealing to all with interests in Kazakhstan. Particularly of note to industry will be those with an emphasis on business and the generation of greater links, cooperation and understanding with government and industry at all levels. However as a broad church the Society extends its efforts to individual members including those with particular interest in culture and educational matters. The youth of any country are its future and therefore we particularly welcome students whose contributions we feel will be very important to the Society going forward. On behalf of our Honorary Patrons, our Honorary Presidents, being the Ambassadors of each of Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom and the Society’s Council Members I welcome you to our website.
