Douglas Townsend was appointed the first BKS Fellow at a special ceremony at the House of Lords on 9 January 2020, for his outstanding contribution to the BKS.
He was presented with a special certificate by Rupert Goodman, Chairman of BKS, in the presence of Rt. Hon. Christopher Pincher MP, Minister of State at FCO and HE Mike Gifford, HM Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
