Annual Job Fair 

20th March (Saturday) 2021

The Kazakhstan PhD Association in the UK, Research Committee of the British-Kazakh Society, and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the UK have the honor to invite companies-members of the British-Kazakh Society to join us for the Fourth annual Job Fair. 

 

Job Fair is one of our signature events organized for Kazakh students in the UK as a networking platform for employers and potential candidates in the job market to better contribute to the human resource development in Kazakhstan. 

 

This year Invited organizations include National Welfare Fund «Samruk-Kazyna», National Managing Holding «Baiterek», KazMinerals, NCE RK «Atameken», AIFC, Bi-Group, Shell, EBRD, KBTU, Nazarbayev University, Satbayev University, Atyrau Oil & Gas University.

Kazakhstan:

 

On 2 February, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Magzum Mirzagaliyev. Kazakhstan is planning to increase fish production from 9000 tonnes to 270000 tonnes within the next 10 years (click here).

 

On 5 February, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Chairman of the Board of ArcelorMittal Lakshmi Mittal. He requested Lakshmi Mittal to provide equal pay for local and foreign staff (click here).

 

On 5 February, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with newly elected EBRD President Odile Renauld-Basso. EBRD invested over GBP 6.5 billion into the country (click here).

 

On 5 February, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev established a State Commission for Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence (click here).

 

According to the official statistics, as of 8 February, 196,115 people have been infected with Covid-19 in Kazakhstan. 176,744 people recovered and 2,540 died.

 

 

United Kingdom:

 

The UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is launching a public competition to mobilise investment in developing and emerging countries (click here).

 

More than 150,000 job seekers around the UK will benefit from the new Digital Job Surgeries support (click here).

 

Almost two million British citizens are expected to be supported back into work through innovative Plan for Jobs employment schemes delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions (click here).

 

The UK Rail Minister opens a £9 million fund to railway innovators and investors (click here).

 

According to the official statistics, as of 8 February, 3,959,784 people have been infected with COVID19 in the UK, 1,950,886 people recovered and 112,792 died.
