BKS Webinar: Gas in Kazakhstan - a Current Impression

The British-Kazakh Society (BKS) hosted a webinar titled “Gas in Kazakhstan – A Current Impression,” bringing together industry experts to discuss recent developments, challenges, and opportunities in Kazakhstan’s gas sector. The session was hosted by Nicholas Pomeroy, BKS Director and Chairman of the BKS Energy Group Committee, and moderated by John Morrow, Non-Executive Chair of Ocean Geophysics and former General Director of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating.
The webinar featured presentations by Jamal Nusseibeh (CEO, Ramla Capital), Michael Hillard (Director of Defense and Security Analysis at the Oxus Society for Central Asian Affairs), and Nick Coleman (Associate Director, PRISM Strategic Intelligence). Speakers provided expert perspectives on production trends, policy developments, and the evolving role of gas within Kazakhstan’s energy landscape, as well as broader regional dynamics and strategic considerations. The discussion highlighted both the opportunities for further development of Kazakhstan’s gas sector and the challenges associated with infrastructure, domestic demand, and export markets.
The event attracted an engaged audience of policymakers, investors, and industry professionals. The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to exchange views and explore key issues affecting Kazakhstan’s gas sector in greater depth.
