BKS Webinar: Interactive Discussion on Arbitration

18 Jun 2026

The British Kazakh Society (BKS) successfully hosted the latest session in its arbitration webinar series, building on the strong interest and positive engagement generated by the inaugural series last year. The interactive format placed participants at the centre of the discussion, with the session primarily dedicated to addressing audience questions on key arbitration topics.

The webinar covered a broad range of issues, including international commercial arbitration, investment treaty disputes, enforcement of arbitral awards, and the specific features of arbitration practice in Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region. Participants had the opportunity to submit questions in advance as well as raise additional questions during the live session, resulting in a dynamic and practical exchange of views.

The session was hosted by Natalia Perova, BKS Law Group Chair (London), and moderated by Alexander Gridasov, Senior Associate at HSFK (London). Expert insights were provided by Sergei Vataev, Partner at Advocates Bureau "Legit" (Almaty), and Alina Tulegenova, Senior Associate in the Case Management Department at the AIFC.

The webinar attracted strong engagement from legal professionals and members of the BKS network, reaffirming the continued interest in arbitration developments and cross-border dispute resolution in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
