19 Jan 2026

On 19 January 2026, as part of BKS Kazakhstan Week in London, the British-Kazakh Society (BKS), in collaboration with the British-Kazakh Law Association (BrKLA) and international law firm Mishcon de Reya LLP, hosted a highly engaging roundtable discussion at the firm’s London offices. This event served as the opening highlight of a broader programme dedicated to strengthening legal, commercial, and professional ties between the United Kingdom and Kazakhstan.

The discussion focused on cross-border asset and reputation protection, a topic of increasing importance for businesses and individuals operating across jurisdictions. Legal experts from Mishcon de Reya shared practical insights and recent developments relevant to the English-Kazakh legal market, emphasising both regulatory complexities and strategic considerations in managing international assets.

Attendees included legal professionals, business leaders, and representatives from both countries, reflecting the event’s role as a forum for dialogue and knowledge exchange. Following the substantive discussion, participants had the opportunity to engage further during an informal Q&A session, fostering interaction and collaboration among practitioners with shared interests.

The evening concluded with drinks and canapés, allowing guests to continue networking in a relaxed setting. The event quickly reached capacity, highlighting strong interest in UK–Kazakhstan legal cooperation and the broader objectives of BKS Kazakhstan Week to deepen professional relationships and explore emerging opportunities.

Overall, this roundtable exemplified the growing momentum behind bilateral engagement in law and business, underpinning the ongoing development of strategic partnerships between the UK and Kazakhstan.
