20 Jan 2026

The British-Kazakh Society, together with Fladgate LLP and the British-Kazakh Law Association, hosted Kazakh Law Day in London as part of the BKS Kazakhstan Week. The event brought together legal professionals and business representatives to discuss key legal and regulatory developments in Kazakhstan and their implications for cross-border cooperation and investment.

The programme consisted of three panel discussions. The first panel addressed trends and challenges in cross-border mergers and acquisitions in Kazakhstan, highlighting regulatory developments and market opportunities. The second panel introduced the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), focusing on its legal framework, dispute resolution mechanisms, and role in attracting international business. The third panel provided insights into cross-border disputes, with a particular focus on Kazakhstan, examining practical issues in litigation and arbitration involving international parties.

The event concluded with a networking reception, offering participants the opportunity to exchange views and build professional connections in an informal setting. Overall, Kazakh Law Day served as a concise and effective platform for dialogue and knowledge sharing, reinforcing the commitment of the British-Kazakh Society and its partners to strengthening legal and business engagement between the UK and Kazakhstan.
