Kazakhstan Week: Succession Planning in Kazakhstan: Global Context & Domestic Considerations

21 Jan 2026

As part of the BKS Kazakhstan Week, the British-Kazakh Society, Charles Russell Speechlys, and the British-Kazakh Law Association jointly hosted a Private Wealth Breakfast titled “Succession Planning in Kazakhstan: Global Context & Domestic Considerations”. The event was kindly hosted by Charles Russell Speechlys and brought together legal professionals, private wealth advisers, business owners, and members of the BKS network.

The discussion explored key aspects of succession planning in Kazakhstan, placing domestic legal and regulatory considerations within a broader international context. Speakers addressed cross-border wealth structuring, inheritance planning, family governance, and the interaction between Kazakhstani frameworks and global best practices. Particular attention was given to the challenges faced by internationally mobile families and entrepreneurs with assets across multiple jurisdictions.

The breakfast concluded with a networking session, offering participants the opportunity to exchange insights, share practical experiences, and strengthen professional connections in an informal setting. The British-Kazakh Society extends its sincere thanks to Charles Russell Speechlys for hosting this event and to all attendees for contributing to a thoughtful and engaging discussion.
